Ildikó Biró

Dr. Ildikó Biró graduated as a teacher of Art and Geography from Juhász Gyula Teacher Training College in 1992. In 1997, she obtained a secondary school teaching qualification in Visual and Environmental Culture, with a specialization in multimedia, from the Hungarian University of Applied Arts. Since 2006, she has been teaching at the Department of Drawing and Art History of the Juhász Gyula Faculty of Education, University of Szeged.

Her doctoral research focuses on the knowledge components of visual communication, as well as on questions related to the development and assessment of creative sub-skills. Her research programme examines contemporary pedagogical and technological methods related to visual education, with particular emphasis on the use of information and communication technologies (ICT), the pedagogical interpretation of international research findings in visual education, and their possible integration into the teaching of Visual Culture. Her work places special emphasis on the development of digital assessment environments, the study of creative visual thinking, and a competence-based approach to visual communication.

Her publications are primarily related to visual communication, visual education, digital pedagogy, and the assessment and development of creative artistic skills.

In addition to her academic work, she regularly participates in national and international exhibitions with graphic works created using both digital and traditional techniques. She is a member of the National Association of Hungarian Creative Artists.
