Dr László Stachó is a psychologist, musicologist and pianist. Over the past two decades, as a professor at the Liszt Academy of Music in Budapest and the Faculty of Music at the University of Szeged, he has taught chamber music, early twentieth-century performance history and musical analysis, as well as music psychology and his own Practice Methodology. He has run continuing education courses for musicians in Hungary and abroad since 2014, and has helped shape Hungarian music education policy at the highest level: he co-authored the music chapter of the 2012 National Core Curriculum, was commissioned to design the new music teacher training curriculum at the Liszt Academy, and in 2013 developed the qualification system for teachers in specialist music education. He teaches masterclasses in chamber music, piano and Practice Methodology, his own musical attention training, at leading academies and festivals in more than twenty countries, including regular appearances at the conservatoires of Rome, Madrid, Bern and Jerusalem. As a pianist, he appears in chamber concerts and gives solo recitals in numerous countries across Europe and Asia, in the United States and in Israel. He was Visiting Fellow at the Faculty of Music of the Cambridge University in 2014 and 2017, and Guest Professor at the Jerusalem Academy of Music and Dance in 2023.
