In his presentation, visiting professor Tomáš Marušiak will present AI art as a cultural, scientific and technological phenomenon, the roots of which are to be found in generative and conceptual art. The presentation will discuss various strategies of contemporary human-AI collaboration and their artistic applications.
Tomáš Marušiak (1980, Košice) is a Slovak new media artist and university lecturer. He is one of the founders of the first new media art department in Slovakia, his research interests include 3D computer art, art created with artificial intelligence and neuroaesthetics. Since 2004, he has been the director of the Cultcode Institute of Visual Arts, and is currently conducting research at Masaryk University in Brno.
